Why The US Stove US1269E Is Worth The Investment

This isn't just another small wood stove, it's a rugged, EPA 2020 certified appliance with a cool-touch safety handle, giving cabin and workshop owners modern clean-burning technology inside a genuinely rustic, durable exterior.

The US1269E specifically addresses the needs of homeowners heating log cabins, large garages, or workshops up to 900 sq. ft. who want the latest emissions certification alongside classic cast iron durability.

Turns A Rugged Exterior Into A Genuinely Clean-Burning Stove. Inside this rugged exterior is a modern 2020 EPA certified stove providing a clean burning heating solution, so the classic cast iron look comes with real, current emissions performance rather than older technology.

Built For Durability And Everyday Cooking. Tested and certified to U.L. 1482 by Warnock Hersey International, this stove is durability defined with unequaled life expectancy. An integrated cooking surface on top allows meals to be prepared while enjoying the traditional wood-burning stove experience.

Engineered For Safe, Simple Operation. A 2-piece safety handle remains cool while the stove is burning, reducing the risk of burns during operation. The stove accepts logs up to 19 in. in length, reducing how often it needs to be reloaded.

Real Savings. Wood fuel can be less expensive than gas or electric heating in areas with access to firewood. An integrated cooktop avoids the cost of running a separate cooking appliance in a cabin or workshop, and heavy-duty cast iron construction supports long-term durability, reducing the likelihood of costly early replacement. Free shipping and no sales tax through Summit Forge Supply keeps the total cost down compared to buying elsewhere and paying tax and freight separately.

The Bottom Line Homeowners heating cabins, garages, or workshops who want a rugged, modern, EPA 2020 certified wood stove with a cool-touch handle can't get that same combination from an older or less-certified design. The US Stove US1269E is built with heavy-duty cast iron, a cool-touch safety handle, and U.L. 1482 certification, so it delivers 54,000 BTUs of dependable, durable heat. For anyone wanting a rugged, certified wood stove for a cabin or workshop, this is the stove built to make it work.

Do you have videos on how to repair my Wood Stove?

Yes, please use this link to see our full list of videos Wood Stove Repair Videos

What size flue does the flue collar take?

The flue collar is designed to take 6” flue pipe.

Why is the advertised BTU different than the BTU output in the manual?

The Btu output listed in the owner’s manual is calculated under specific test conditions when undergoing EPA certification.  These parameters are not the same as normal usage of the stove.  The advertised Btu is based on the maximum Btu input that has been obtained in that particular stove.

Why can’t I get my wood to stay lit without leaving the door open?

A) Draft is the number one contributor to how well your stove is going to burn. Your chimney is what drives this draft.  If it is too short, or not made with the correct material or somehow not installed properly, it has a drastic impact on how well your stove performs. This can lead to the fire only staying lit if the feed door is open, smoking, blackened glass, and other issues if the chimney isn’t providing sufficient draft.  Newer EPA certified stoves require a substantial amount of draft than older non-regulated stoves.  You cannot compare how an old stove performed with how a new stove performs on the same installation.
B) The type of wood, quality of wood, and wood moisture are also integral in the performance of the stove. Wood should be seasoned properly with a moisture content between 15% and 20% (please note that surface moisture may be less than the internal moisture content so we recommend splitting the wood before checking the moisture content). Wood that has too high of a moisture content can lead to difficulty maintaining a fire, excessive smoking, and creosote production.

Where is this Product Made?

When it comes to product design, innovation, engineering, and testing, that all happens right here in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. Due to the competitive marketplace in the heating industry and the price point we want to offer our customers; we manufacture this model in China under very strict oversight.

Can you convert the venting from top to back or vice versa?

No, none of our heaters allow for the change of the flue location.

Can a flue damper be added to the chimney pipe?

With an EPA certified stove, a manual solid flue damper cannot be used.  If you are wanting more control over the fire to allow for a slower burn, we instead recommend a Barometric Draft Regulator.

Do I need to install a fresh air kit?

If the stove is mobile home approved and is being installed in a mobile home, then a fresh air kit is required.  It is only optional otherwise, but may be necessary if you have a really air tight home or you are getting a negative pressure in the house.  The addition of a fresh air kit can help with the overall draft of the stove.

Can I use a grate in the firebox?

We do not recommend the usage of any grates in any of our wood stoves.

Can my wood stove be burned without a blower.

Yes.  These stoves are designed to be operated without the use of a blower.  Most of the time the blowers are optional accessories that can be purchased if wanted, but not required.

How do I know if a particular stove is mobile home approved or not.

The front cover of the owner’s manual should state if a stove is approved for mobile home usage or not.  If you need to find the owner’s manual, the latest addition should be on our website.
