How can I prevent my spreader from rusting? We encourage everyone to remove any extra material from the spreader before throughly cleaning the inside and outside of the spreader. Allow the spreader to completely dry before storing in a cool, dry area. You may coat the metal portions in a light oil.

Can this be used for other materials besides ice melt/rock salt? Yes, this spreader can be used for sand, top soil and even compost. Do not use unit for spreading grass seed or fertilizer products.
